Topic Investigation a Media Watch Excercise

My main interest has been in documenting folk musicians I have made anumber of recordings of folk musicans in full flight, a great example of how well folk has been documented in the past would be the site "Folkstreams" i'm am an avid fan of it's content, Alan Lomax said his generation would be the most reviled in history for not seeking to virtualize the abundance of folk musicians that inhabited the world who still learnth music through a purely aural aprroach, a natural way of comprehending music rather than the more rigged classical aspects of scales and labourious practive for a concert pitch and controlled drama, the drama of music is well documented it's intesity and the field of emotion it generates can be stirring and i believe that it makes great television. programmes like "come west alogn the road" with extensive archive footage of folk musicians these are the programmes produced by my country that I am fond of, though i would like to implement for myself a programme with more inherint mystery a narrative of music filmed in an eerie locartion seeming to reside upon the very outside of time.Here is an example of folk music from my cousins from Letterfrack in Connemara,

A few examplse of how visually beautiful and compelling musical documantation can be, a collection of accsessed and considered material. Blues and folk interest me most entirely more than rock and roll as the expression isn't guarded and artfulness is raw and uncertain within the realm of folk and blues music, and also the incidental shots associated with folk music may involve chickens pottering about a hen house, sow's giving birth and various farmhouse capers whereas rock n' roll is the sort of inheriter of disaffection an nihalismm, I find more malevelonce in warmhearted songs that have dimensions of cruelty to them.

The sense of place and time is important in the permanence of these recordings, when i create these kinds of films I imbue them with it sense of fictionalised place and time, for all time as I cannot approach the authenticity as standard of the videos listed above, in my own endevours.

These are still my five favourite blogs at the moment,

An art blog, most of the drawings are rather cartoonish and the contributors show how much can be achieved when adhering to a regimentation of stages when enacting visual expression with a little pencil or perhaps pen i myself am to anxious to benefit from this patient manner but the mere sight of so many accomplished artists doing well for themselves is comforting, and you could get a general sense of how to go about drawing from affording some rumination to their entries on this blog.
